Q: Why am I being asked to log into Google?

A: Google owns YouTube and this contest is only for the channel's subscribers, so you have to log in so that SubSweeps can verify your subscription.

SubSweeps gets less data than most websites that allow you to log in with Google. Only your google client number, gmail email, and the status of your subscription to this channel is pulled. SubSweeps does not look at the list of any other channels that you're subscribed to. SubSweeps will never share any data with the channel, even if you win. SubSweeps will send the winner a claim code who can initiate contact with the channel to claim the award. SubSweeps would lose its connection to Google if SubSweeps shared your data with the channel.

Q: What does it mean to subscribe to a YouTube channel?

A: Subscribing to a YouTube channel is free and it involves clicking on the bell icon while visiting that channel. You can also click on the red YouTube button under the channel info on the right of this page. Once you subscribe to a channel, that channel's new videos will appear in your YouTube feed. You may also receive notifications of the new content if you have not disabled new video notifications.
